Escape to
under the fig tree

experience
Locally owned,
warmly hosted

Welcome to Ol Gaboli, named after the Maasai for the fig tree that has stood for generations at the heart of our lodge. Tucked beside the Ewaso Nyiro River, Ol Gaboli is more than just a place to stay — it's a shared project between our team and our community, designed to welcome you into the rhythms of the land we call home.

A lodge like no other — Ol Gaboli is owned by the Ilmotiok Women's Group, and with a new team, is bringing a boutique community-led experience to the lodge.

The lodge is surrounded by a wild and generous landscape — elephants crossing the river at dawn, fig trees older than stories, skies that stretch past the edges of maps.

Our camp is simple, beautiful, and open to the world (yes, we do have Starlink). As a community-owned lodge, your stay directly supports the people who live on this land. That means more meaningful connections, deeper knowledge, and a welcome that’s truly personal.

Whether you're here for wildlife, connection, or calm, we want you to leave with a little more than you arrived with. Our team can't wait to start planning your trip with you, and look forward to welcoming you soon.

SAFARI

Conservation managed by our community

We offer safaris the way they should be: unhurried, respectful, and led by people who know this land best. Walk the bush, track wildlife, or simply sit and watch — here in Laikipia, the wild comes to you.

Bandas to escape
from reality

Our bandas are hand-built, open to the landscape, and designed with simplicity and comfort in mind. Each one sits by the river, with big skies overhead and the sounds of the bush all around — nothing fancy, just what matters.

Lose yourself
in our landscapes

There’s more to Ol Gaboli than game drives. Walk with local guides, visit neighbouring villages, learn about traditional conservation, or just spend a quiet afternoon by the river. We offer the chance to slow down, connect, and see Laikipia through the eyes of those who live here.

"Beautiful nature and scenery and great hospitality! We have really enjoyed our stay here, great place to disconnect, and enjoy the nature."
"My first visit to Kenya and Ol Gaboli didn't disappoint. Didn't see another vehicle in an entire week."
